Champions of the competition “Cow beauty” at the exhibition “Golden Autumn” in October
Exhibition of breeding animals “White nights” was held in the last day of August in the Leningrad region.
Deputy minister of the Agriculture Aleksander Petrikov, which welcomed the exhibition “White nights” on behalf of the ministry of the Agriculture of the Russian Federation, noted that the exhibition-competition in the field of dairy farming is not only regional importance event, but also has a large Federal meaning.
Aleksander Petrikov also noted that nowadays Ministry of Agriculture develops new revised version of the program of developing of the agriculture in Russia till the 2020, where dairy cattle will be highlighted in a special direction. The special program in the dairy cattle will be created in accordance to the existing program for beef cattle. The document provides new support measures to stimulate the investment process, to improve the marketability of milk, including small-scale sector. The main emphasis will be placed on the development of specialized large-scale commercial dairy farms and on breeding improving.
«This Autumn the Ministry of Agriculture will submit to the Russian Federation Government a new version of the Federal law on livestock breeding, amendments to which we have developed in close contact with your staff, and where given the experience of the Leningrad region. because the Leningrad region is the largest agricultural area, the leader of dairy cattle. In your area are the highest yields in Russia, which exceeded the figures in 7 thousand tons. Those are European indicators of world dairy cattle», – said Deputy Minister of agriculture of the Russian Federation.
According to the results of the contest “White nights”, which was judged by the expert from the United States Rebecca Mast, a champion in the category “Animals of black-motley breed” became the cow named Shubka from the plant breeding “Rascvet” of Priozerks district. Vice-champion became the cow Nitka from the breeding factory “Detskoselskiy” of Tosnensky district.
The number One among Ayrshire breed cows became the last year Vice-champion – cow Kislitsa from the joint stock company “Zarechye” of Volkhov district. Second place was given to Klubnichka from agricultural enterprise “Voskhod” of Tosnenskiy district.
Champions of the “White nights” will take part in the Russian agro-industrial exhibition “Golden Autumn-2014”, which will be held from 8 to 11 of October in Moscow, VDNH.
